THE CHALLENGE

Clarios was undergoing a major transformation to position the company for long-term success over the next two decades. A critical barrier to progress was the lack of an executive who could both understand the complexities of advanced automotive technologies and connect them to the broader business strategy.

At the same time, market dynamics were shifting rapidly with new demands around vehicle architectures, lithium-ion technology, and future mobility solutions. The organization did not have a clear and cohesive technology roadmap, and communication with customers around innovation was inconsistent.

The business needed a high-level CTO executive capable of inspiring global teams, identifying organizational gaps, and driving innovation at scale, while also providing the clarity required to strengthen customer trust and deliver on the company’s ambitions.

THE SOLUTION

Miramar focused the search on Tier 1 automotive suppliers and OEM technology leaders with a proven track record in engineering, product innovation, and transformation. The goal was to identify individuals who had successfully bridged technology with business strategy, demonstrating the ability to deploy new technologies into market while building sustainable innovation pipelines.

Particular emphasis was placed on candidates with strong communication skills, capable of aligning internal teams around a shared vision and strengthening engagement with external customers and partners. In addition, Miramar sought leaders who could bring a fresh perspective to Clarios and were able to assess organizational capabilities objectively and establish frameworks for long-term success.

THE RESULT

Within the search, Miramar identified and secured an outstanding leader from the Tier 1 automotive sector. This individual brought deep technical expertise spanning vehicle integration, power electronics, and battery management systems, combined with strong knowledge of software-defined vehicles and high-performance computing.

Beyond their technical foundation, the candidate had a proven history of building technology pipelines, leading product strategy, and delivering large-scale transformation in previous roles. Their ability to connect engineering with business outcomes, alongside strong customer and partner engagement skills, made them uniquely positioned to shape Clarios’ technology roadmap and drive future growth.

The impact

The chosen candidate gave Clarios the strategic and technical leadership required to define and execute a cohesive technology roadmap at a pivotal moment in its transformation.

By bridging advanced automotive technology with commercial strategy, the new executive brought clarity and direction to the company’s approach to vehicle architectures, energy storage, and future mobility solutions.

Crucially, the hire improved both internal alignment and external customer engagement, reinforcing confidence in Clarios’ innovation capabilities. The result has been a stronger foundation for long-term competitiveness, sustainable growth, and leadership in the mobility solutions market.
