THE CHALLENGE

Our client, the global leader in advanced low-voltage battery technologies, sought a Vice President of Sales, OE Americas to lead a $1.5B regional business spanning the U.S., Mexico, and Brazil.

The organization faced several key challenges:

  • Domain expertise gap: The business required a leader grounded in electrical and electronic (E/E) systems rather than traditional mechanical products.
  • Strategic inflection point: Our client aimed to appoint a next-generation commercial leader aligned with its evolving, technology-focused strategy.
  • Regional complexity: The role demanded experience managing a $1B+ P&L and leading diverse, international teams across the Americas.
  • Future-facing leadership: The ideal candidate needed to elevate the company’s profile with OEMs amid major industry shifts, including the rise of software-defined vehicles and increasing electrical system demands.

THE SOLUTION

The search was redirected toward senior executives from Tier 1 automotive electronics suppliers and adjacent E/E technology firms to ensure the right blend of technical, commercial, and leadership expertise.

Key evaluation criteria included:

  • Technical and commercial credibility with OEMs across hardware, systems, and software domains.
  • Proven scale and impact, leading multi-country sales organizations with full P&L accountability.
  • Strategic transformation capability, with the ability to embed a systems-selling mindset.
  • Deep OEM relationships across purchasing, engineering, and product development.
  • Future orientation, with understanding of vehicle electrical architectures, energy management, and software integration.
  • Strong leadership presence, able to attract, develop, and inspire high-performing regional teams.

This targeted, insight-driven approach positioned our client as an attractive destination for transformational leaders at the intersection of energy storage and intelligent vehicle systems.

THE RESULT

Our client appointed a seasoned automotive executive with over 20 years of Tier 1 E/E systems leadership experience, managing multi-billion-dollar portfolios across the Americas and Europe.

This leader brings:

  • Established OEM relationships and deep commercial credibility.
  • A track record of building globally aligned, high-performing commercial teams.
  • The strategic acumen to drive organizational transformation and strengthen customer partnerships.

Their appointment reinforces the business’s position as a technology partner of choice for global OEMs, while accelerating its next phase of growth in low-voltage mobility and intelligent energy management solutions.

The impact

By securing a next-generation sales leader with strong E/E systems expertise, our client has strengthened its regional leadership capability and enhanced its strategic alignment with the industry’s electrification trends.

The new Vice President is driving commercial transformation, expanding OEM engagement, and positioning the company to capture growth opportunities across the evolving landscape of software-defined, energy-intensive vehicles.
