THE CHALLENGE

Miramar was retained by an innovative cleantech company to hire an Senior Vice President of Investor Relations reporting directly to the CEO. This organisation offers an integrated solution for plastic recycling, including both chemical recycling technology and feedstock processing expertise,

The client was looking for candidates with listed company experience as well as a blend of corporate development/M&A and investor relations (IR) experience, with the agility to operate in a small yet globally-growing organisation. The ideal candidate would be a change agent with international experience who could drive the development and execution of the IR strategy.

THE SOLUTION

Leaning on our experience within chemicals, specialty chemicals, energy, and industrial markets, and a strong existing network within the chemical space, we quickly approached several sources, and in parallel worked to find top talent in investor relations across the UK and Norway. It was challenging to find the ideal combination of relevant IR experience alongside M&A experience in someone who would also be the best fit to the company culture.

THE RESULT

Miramar shortlisted four candidates for the role in 42 days, with a placement in 90 days,. The successful candidate brought strong IR experience as well as ESG strategy development, and as such, the role was shifted to focus on IR and sustainability, with the opportunity for our candidate to develop and learn the corporate development piece as she grew in the role.
