Philadelphia, PA– Months away from a Philadelphia launch, the team at Miramar sits around a meeting table to explore outreach possibilities. With a focus on Technology, Automotive, Industrial, Science and Consumer, we explored local organizations. TechGirlz stood out to the us because of their mission, vision, and alignment with our areas of concentration.
According to the TechGirlz mission statement, diversity in technology is ultimately an economic issue; companies perform better and even thrive with a more diverse workforce, and more women in tech can address the industry’s workforce shortage.
“We love that TechGirlz ignites excitement and curiosity for girls to explore the unlimited possibility of technology as a career.” – Miramar Team
With a timeline projected for early spring 2019, Miramar Global is planning to host a Golf Outing on behalf of our new charity. The proceeds raised from this event will directly support TechGirlz and its mission.
“We at Miramar believe in the phrase of “Go Big or Go Home” and want to bring awareness to the gender gap that exists in the makeup of technology workforces across the globe. “– Kristy Calo, Senior Consultant at Miramar Global Executive Search
According to data from virtual event solutions company, Evia, “women make up less than 20 percent of U.S. tech jobs, even though they make up more than half of the U.S. workforce.”
“Our goal is to raise awareness and bring attention to organizations like TechGirlz and the vital role they play in shaping the diversity landscape of our future workforce!”– Lejla Arslic, Operations at Miramar Global Executive Search
Miramar’s team looks forward in joining the TechGirlz movement to inspire young girls.
