With 2018 quickly approaching we’ve taken some time to reflect on 2017; an exciting year for us with everything from our global merger and leadership events to new team members and our successes for chosen charities.
Let’s take a look back over the past 12 months and what they’ve meant for Miramar Global Executive Search.
We Announced the Beginning of Miramar Global
Our biggest news was announced in October, when we were very pleased to reveal that US based DES Recruitment Inc. merged their operations into Miramar Executive Search Ltd to form Miramar Global Executive Search LLC.
Since combining forces, we have been able to offer an even stronger and more agile global platform, developing our capabilities and credentials across all of our sectors and specialisms too, including IoT, AI, ML, Blockchain and staying on top of what challenges our clients are most faced with.
With offices both in London and Philadelphia, Miramar has the vision to deliver market-leading services to create more value and provide our clients with the executive talent to enable a strategic competitive advantage.
If you missed the news when it was released then you can find out everything you need to know in our merger article.
Our Team Grew in Size and Strength
This year we have welcomed several new team members including two new Partners.
Firstly, Paul Marks joined our London team as Partner. Paul is a Partner in the TMT Practice, working extensively with companies going through change and transformation to build high performing leadership teams.
Paul has a strong track record in delivering Board and Leadership positions across strategy and operations for a range of clients including public, private and private equity owned businesses across EMEA, North America and Asia Pacific.
Next into the London office, as a Senior Delivery Consultant, was Catherine Dibble. As an experienced researcher and delivery consultant across both the technology and industrial sectors, having worked with leading executive search firms and boutiques, for global corporate clients as well as venture backed businesses, Cath is now responsible for candidate acquisition, assessment and management, primarily within TMT at Miramar Global.
In addition, our UK office also said hello to Jennifer Duncan as a Delivery Consultant in our Industrials practice and Georgina Wescombe as Office Manager.
Then, following our merger we welcomed Chris Strazinski., as a Partner. Based in our Philadelphia office, the new partner brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience and a successful track record of building strong relationships with various stakeholders across health manufacturing, and med-tech/med-device sectors.
Strasinski excels at partnering with a wide range of healthcare organizations, from established Fortune 500 companies to startup ventures, and maintains an extensive national network of healthcare and technology executive leaders. He has been on the Board and a Strategic Advisor to DES Recruitment for the past 10 years.
Our US office had other new recruits too; Yolanda Spruill as a Consultant in our Healthcare practice, Jeff Harvey joined as a Senior Consultant in our Technology practice and Kristy Calo joined as a Senior Consultant in our Industrials practice too. Eileen Greenly also joined the team as a consultant.
Leaders Joined Us
Further to welcoming new in-house leaders, we also welcomed leaders from other organisations as we co-hosted two London based leadership events with Elite Performance Partners.
It’s our pleasure to unite leaders and thinkers across our sectors to ensure that we are sharing best practice and innovation in line with our own vision for all organisations and their future success therefore these events were significant in our activity and we would like to thank our teams involved in hosting the events.

We Appointed a New CEO for Le Chameau
Among our other client successes this year we were significantly pleased to announce a very high profile placement as our candidate, David Robinson OBE, was appointed as CEO of Le Chameau, owned by Marwyn Management Partners.
As always, using our bespoke processes, we mapped the market, attracted a strong field of candidates, shortlisted the top four candidates for interview and secured our client’s preferred choice for the leading role – within eight weeks. As a result, Le Chameau is now entering an exciting new phase of growth with David, an experienced chief executive who recently spent eight years as President of Speedo International, at the helm.
You can find out more about this placement and our other successes in full in our success stories section.
Future for Heroes Success
Notably 2017 has not simply been about growing our organisation; we also want to create a workplace that has a positive effect on our people too, so this year we have been working even harder to make a societal impact with the work that we do through charitable activities and supporting the community.
Since 2015, we have been working with the charity Future for Heroes through the Work for Good organisation and this year saw the successful appointment of not one, but two individuals following pro-bono searches carried out be us on behalf of the charity.
Sean Taylor and Christian Yates, were placed as Trustees. With quality experience in identifying and acquiring executive leaders for businesses worldwide, we were successful in managing candidates associated with Future for Heroes through interviews and selection processes.
Mud, Sweat and Tears
And last, but by no means least in our most significant events of 2017, we come back to our team and their adventures in September as they tackled Tough Mudder for the second time.
Tough Mudder is a 10-12 mile mud and obstacle course designed to drag you out of your comfort zone by testing your physical strength, stamina and mental grit. With no podiums, winners, or clocks to race against, it’s not about how fast you can cross the finish line. Rather, it’s a challenge that emphasizes teamwork, camaraderie, and accomplishing something almost as tough as you are.
To get through the course one requires a great team, determination and a positive attitude – luckily team Miramar had plenty of the required ingredients!
Our brave team took on sub-zero baths and electrocution along their cross country run but due to a barbed wire related wardrobe malfunction, some even managed to swap clothes part way round the course!
Find out more about what the team tackled in our full article about the event.
Thank you and Looking Forward
The Miramar Global Team would like to say a huge thank to all of our candidates and clients. We’re proud of all the hard work our teams have put in this year and look forward to another successful year in 2018!
