THE CHALLENGE
A multi-billion, natural specialty ingredient producer partnered with Miramar to hire a Director of Customer Innovation and Technical Support for their Personal Care Business. This was central to a succession planning strategy for a long standing member of the leadership team. The challenge was to acquire relevant expertise in Lipid technology combined with the track record in leading innovative collaboration projects with global customers and a deep understanding of the Personal Care market. The position was based in Sweden, meaning promoting relocation as a viable option.
THE SOLUTION
We built a detailed map of the organisational structures in R&D for the specialty material and functional ingredients businesses supplying the personal care market. Understanding how those businesses engage and innovate in partnership with those customers was equally important in ensuring we could assess the most suitable and highly qualified candidates. We then engaged with these candidates to share the opportunity, assess suitability and determine those who would consider relocating to Sweden.
THE RESULT
We used a combination of PRISM brain-mapping behavioural assessment, experience and competency questioning and Miramar’s understanding of the businesses cultural requirements to assess the candidates. This produced a shortlist of the highest calibre executives who were able to lead their strategic innovation with customers. Following an extensive interview process, the business were able to appoint an exceptional candidate with deep expertise in their technology and in innovation.
