A few weeks prior to the European coronavirus lockdown, Miramar was mandated by the VP Technology of a leading manufacturer and distributor of automotive oil, additives, and lubricants, to identify and hire a Regional Technical Manager within the EMEA region. Reporting into the VP, this individual would need to guarantee high production quality for the entirety of the product range within Europe, as well as managing the technical department in line with the global strategy. Our client required an expert within the lubricants market, with a strong academic background in chemistry and chemical technology, capable of reinvigorating and inspiring the local teams.
Given the importance of the contact with the technical teams, Miramar began by prioritising local candidates with the requisite technical background and pedigree. We also mapped the relevant businesses and profiles across Europe to ensure our client was aware and informed of the available talent pool in the market. Once shortlisted, Miramar supported the lead candidates through a phase of remote interviews, as well as helping our client in de-risking their hiring decision through continuous support and executive assessment solutions. This allowed both our client and the chosen candidate to feel confident in moving forward in the hiring process.
