The Challenge:
Miramar were retained on a search by a global market leader in the Medial Device Industry for a role sat within their Diabetes Care business. This position was designed to work with external research partners and internal development teams to build cutting-edge AI capabilities into their insulin management and delivery systems.
Reporting to the VP R&D and Business Development, Diabetes Care, the remit of the role was to look after development, integration, clinical trials, regulatory submission, and commercialization of this product, which offers first-of-its-kind decision support for people with Diabetes and those physicians who treat them. The perfect candidate would have a proven track record of leading highly complex, mission-critical Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) programs, as well as experience managing strategic alliance and collaborating with external partners.
The Solution:
Our focus was on the Medical Device, Pharma and Big Tech industries, bringing a compelling message to market focused on cutting-edge nature of the product being developed, while handling information with care and sensitivity.
We determined that Med Device companies with patient-facing software platforms with AI built-in were a good target market, as were Pharma companies that had invested in developing connected device platforms alongside mobile apps and data analytics capabilities.
The Result:
Miramar presented a shortlist of three qualified candidates within a one week time frame, due to extreme time sensitivity on the client side. This prompted the successful closure of the search within four weeks of launch.
The Client was given the enviable opportunity to make a tough decision between three strong candidates in an incredibly short period of time and felt expectations were greatly exceeded.
